Position Title: Assistant Director of Development
Contract: Full-time for 12 months
Reports to: Chief Development Officer (primary) & SCA Director of Finance/HR (secondary)

Position Summary

This highly relational individual is an enthusiastic, servant-leader committed to the development and fundraising efforts of Multiply222 Network (M222N) with a predominant focus on Sunlight Christian Academy (SCA) in Port St. Lucie, FL.  The Assistant Director of Development will employ advancement strategies and initiatives to drive ever-deepening engagement and unity-building with the SCA community.  The Assistant Director will actively cultivate individual and corporate partnerships in support of the annual fund, capital campaigns, and events designed to invite partners to invest their time, talents, and treasures toward the fulfillment of our mission to:  multiply disciples, leaders, and churches with the Gospel to change the world. 

 

Major Responsibilities

  • Works in partnership with other ministry colleagues to advance marketing, engagement, and fundraising strategies that align with the direction set jointly by the Chief Development Officer and the SCA Director of Finance/HR.

  • Rapidly acclimates to M222N and SCA; developing a deep understanding of the history, culture, traditions, educational philosophy, and different constituents served.

  • Be responsible for fundraising efforts of SCA and M222N with particular focus in Florida.  This includes personal solicitation, special events, sponsorships, publications, and direct mail.

  • Assists in planning, alongside SCA colleagues, keystone events at SCA.

  • Develops, builds, and manages a portfolio of prospective and current donors through personal visits, phone calls, proposals, presentations, and other correspondence.

  • Creatively crafts and customizes development activities and communication campaigns to build and strengthen relationships with donors and prospective donors in order to sustain regular, annual, and long-term investments.

  • Represents M222N and SCA at various community events and serves as a key participant in meetings, fundraisers, and other special events.

 

Qualifications

  • Personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

  • Member in good standing of Sunlight Community Church.

  • Completion of 222Disciple within first year, as well as, becoming a “Multiplier” (someone whose disciple has made a disciple).

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.

  • Experience in fundraising, advancement, or similar constituent engagement.

  • Prior experience in a leadership position.

  • Highly relational, displaying emotional, cultural, and interpersonal intelligence.

  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written.

  • A high degree of professionalism, creativity, and flexibility.

  • Ability to effectively manage multiple projects.

  • Experience in event planning.

  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as a member of a team.

Salary and benefits:

The salary is competitive, negotiable based on experience and qualifications. Additionally, a comprehensive individual benefits* package will be available after 90 days of employment, along with 3 weeks of paid vacation during the first year of service and an optional 403(b)(9) retirement plan.  Benefits for children at Sunlight Christian Academy are for Preschool, $900 off in fees and 25% off of tuition; and for Elementary, $2,000 off in fees and no tuition discount. 

 

*Employer pays 95% and employee pays 5% of health benefits package, in addition to a $50,000 life insurance policy.  Optional benefits are available, including vision and dental, as well as family plans paid fully by the employee.

Due to the nature of the work with Sunlight Christian Academy, this position is geographically tied to Port St. Lucie, FL.
