March Missions Month Overview Videos

Tyler and Alyssia

For safety purposes, we are unable to share full names, and must only refer to their area of ministry as Central Asia.
Missionary Efforts: Tyler and Alyssia are committed to sharing the gospel in an area of Central Asia. Their particular area is predominantly muslim and for their safety cannot share much of the particular work that they are doing.

Phil and Eunice Raiford

Oaxaca City, Mexico

Phil and Eunice Raiford are church planters among the Mixe people in Oaxaca, Mexico. Phil came to Mexico in 2005 where he underwent a three year apprenticeship in missions. He has worked with several indigenous groups helping disciple and plant churches. Eunice is from Oaxaca and went to medical school in the capital. Early in her youth, she always wanted to be a doctor, helping people with limited resources. They currently live in the village, San Juan Juquila Mixes with their son Ian. There they work among the people, Phil building relationships and discipling men, working alongside them in construction and farming. Eunice is the beloved doctor who treats patients from the medical clinic and pharmacy the Raiford’s founded (the first private clinic in the area). Eunice treats all types of patients from several different villages. Together they share the gospel by living with the people as they live, showing that Christ’s love is stronger, more forgiving and gracious than the oppressive spirits that rule their lives. The goal of the work in Juquila is self-sustaining, reproducible indigenous churches.

Jacqueson Pierre

Jacqueson Pierre’s organization is called Haitian Hope Ministries. Their ministry efforts include a Christian school, an orphanage, and 2 churches. His aim is to share the love of God with those whom his ministries reach.

Wendel Gomes de Abreu

Sunlight WG – Portuguese

We are so excited to welcome Wendel Gomes de Abreu to our Sunlight team. He is launching a Brazilian congregation in Winter Garden capitalizing on the high Portuguese speaking population in greater Orlando. He is already meeting in three Bible studies and has a core team of between 20 and 30 people preparing to launch a worship service this March.

This is important as we experiment with the idea of multicultural and multi language congregations sharing space and resources as we plan to also open in English. This is an effort to maintain community among multigenerational families with English-speaking children and grandchildren allowing the potential to remain in their home church in their dominant language.

Haitian Church Planting In Florida

Pastor Obelto Cherubin is a pastor in our denomination and planted the first CRC Church in Haiti. Pastor Obelto has raised up leaders who are ready to plant Creole speaking churches throughout Florida in partnership with The CRC and Sunlight.

Kenya Pastor Training

Approximately 30 church leaders from Kenya, Nigeria, and Uganda will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya and we will be facilitating a training in 222 Disciple and Public Reading of Scripture. We will be raising money for lodging and travel for these church lodging.

Nigerian Church Plants

In the past Sunlight has planted a total of 11 churches throughout Nigeria. Our aim this year is to plant 1 more church in Abuja, Nigeria.  In addition to this, we will be continuing to help support Asaba, Kantagora, and Manger Island located in Lagos, Nigeria.

222 Leadership Seminary

222 Leadership Seminary’s mission is to equip leaders within our church and school through Competency Based Learning. In collaboration with Calvin Theological Seminary, our goal is to offer scholarships to support these emerging leaders as they strive to make a meaningful difference in the kingdom of God.
